Pollute the source and you pollute everything downstream. Why we need a Tru316!
Jul 28, 2021
Every time a reader around the world reads Genesis 1-3 for the first time their eyes glow with wonder as they read of:
- The Days of Creation!
- The creation of the man and the woman and their marriage in the Garden of Eden
Their eyes open in horror as they learn of
- Satan's attack on them both
- The man's rebellion and betrayal of both the woman and of God
How awful when the read verse 16 where it appears (wrongly) that
- God struck woman's body with pain in childbirth
- God told the rebellious man to rule over the woman
But God didn't do that in Genesis 3:16. In Line 1 of the Hebrew words, according to Dr. Joy Fleming, God promised to act and bring about bad news and good news.
- The bad news was that she too would experience sorrowful-toil because of the curse on the soil (even though the curse was to be made because of the man).
- The good news was that she would certainly have conception, making possible the coming of her promised Seed who would crush the serpent's head!
But modern Bible translations take the bad and good news of Line 1 of Genesis 3:16 and cover it over with pollution.
- They hide these two important elements - "sorrowful-toil" and "conception"
- They remove the "and" replacing it all with just one new very bad idea - painful childbirth at the very end of her pregnancy. And this does not respect the words and the syntax in Line 1!
If she deserved this really bad new single act of God then she must have been really evil. Maybe, she was a Temptress? Maybe she had an evil desire! Maybe she needed to have a new ruler over her. All these ideas are held by many people who have been influenced by the pollution of the one bad thing it looks like God did to the woman in Line 1 because of the bad translations we have today. And this poor view of Eve has influenced the translation and interpretation of key passages on women and men throughout the Bible.
The pollution flowing from Genesis 3:16 needs to be cleaned up. In fact we need a whole army of teachers to clean it up. That's why the Tru316 Project has been established. In the past few years Bruce C. E. Fleming has launched The Eden Podcast which has had touched tens of thousands of downloads. And he wrote The Book of Eden, Genesis 2-3 which is having an impact!
That's why in the summer of 2021 TruSchool has been started. YOU can take the Study Units to train yourself to teach the Tru316 with clarity. And you can help clear up the meaning of the 7 key passages related to Genesis 3:16.
